I'm Lauren and I'm a born and bred Kansas girl. As a kid, I never thought the place I lived was very special. My parents fostered in me a love of travel, and I suppose I thought the everyday things I encountered could not compete with everything "out there." Nowadays, I see that maybe some of the things of my childhood are important and do have a place among the interesting things of the world.
